T-shirt quilted blankets

By: Vivian Y.

While T-shirts may not be made out of the thickest material, they could be used for multiple purposes, especially during winter. A creative experiment could be to find a bunch of unused shirts and cut them up in different shapes and sizes to make one giant blanket.

This activity could be done by

  1. Cutting the shirts into squares, then using a sewing machine to attach the pieces (preferred method) or
  2. Hand knitting the pieces together until you achieve a rectangular shape that resembles a blanket

Either way, this DIY could serve as a great keepsake, especially if done with friends and also helps the environment as it repurposes old shirts that would have been sent to landfills prematurely. I discovered this idea while browsing through Pinterest and I thought I would share!
