While T-shirts may not be made out of the thickest material, they could be used for multiple purposes, especially during winter. A creative experiment could be to find a bunch of unused shirts and cut them up in different shapes and sizes to make one giant blanket.
This activity could be done by
- Cutting the shirts into squares, then using a sewing machine to attach the pieces (preferred method) or
- Hand knitting the pieces together until you achieve a rectangular shape that resembles a blanket
Either way, this DIY could serve as a great keepsake, especially if done with friends and also helps the environment as it repurposes old shirts that would have been sent to landfills prematurely. I discovered this idea while browsing through Pinterest and I thought I would share!
